Welcome to the web page of the CT Family Support Network Northeast Region. If you are a parent or caregiver of a child with any type of disability, our Network is here to help!  We offer support, referrals to agencies that serve children, trainings and presentations on a variety of “user friendly” topics, a voice that reaches the Governor and our State Legislature, family-to-family contacts, an informational list serve, and so much more. Whether you’d like to be involved in effecting policy change, or just need a social outlet among parents who understand the challenges of raising a child with a disability, we are here to help!

 

CT Family Support Network NE Parent Meeting Schedule

Parent Support Group

•    Northeastern CT area support group for parents of children with any disability and/or special health care needs, meets the first Thursday of every month at the Killingly Public Library, 25 Wescott Rd. Danielson, CT from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Please be sure to check our calendar page for the latest meeting information (occassionally we do meet at alternate sites.)

Aspergers/PDD-NOS Support Group

•    Northeastern CT area support group for parents with children diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome or Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified. Self-Advocates are welcome. The group meets the fourth or fifth Monday of every month at the Killingly Public Library, 25 Wescott Rd. Danielson, CT. Group activities are sometimes held off-site and occassionally on alternate dates so please be sure to check our calendar page for details.

Fathers Support Group

•    Northeastern CT area support group for fathers of children with any disability and/or special health care needs. Our newly formed Dad's Group currently does not have a monthly meeting site. Please check our calendar page for the latest event information. We are having social Father/Child/Youth events to get acquainted and share ideas on group direction.

Autism Support Group

•    Our goal is to reach out to families and heal while supporting each other. We need to connect families with Autism together and promote even more Autism Awareness. All children are welcome to attend. The group meets the second Friday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at Nia Connecticut 736 Hartford Turnpike Dayville, CT, For more information contact  John Snell at 860-779-1303 or Email: jdsnell@mindspring.com


Multi-Group Activities

   The Network will often run activities open to members from all of our groups. Please check our calendar page regularly for details and events.


All meetings are open to parents/adult caregivers, and self-advocates. New families are always welcome! Light refreshments will be served. Sorry, no childcare.
